It was rumoured that the avril lavigne's malaysia show will be banned due to its proximity to independence day.
Okay... Finally galaxy obtained consent from government so the show will be going on.
Nevertheless, there was more disappoinement than joy in the end.
Firstly, the show was supposed to begin at 8 o'clock sharp in stadium merdeka but it was delayed to 8.45pm. Then we tried to be patient and waited until 8.45pm, the show was still being stalled for sometime.
Therefore i expected the duration of the concert will be extended. I was bewildered when the show ended at 10.30pm, according to hy and mf, the show lasted merely 1hour and 15mins!
I guess most of the malaysian audiences were not too familliar with all her songs. At times, the crowd was making little noise as avril performed some 'obscured' songs. My friends and I were no exceptions.
This was a concert by a rocker, the atmosphere should be boiling. . .
Last but no least, most of the concerts shoud have a designated encore session. To my frustration, as soon as avril finished her last song, whole stadium was lit up.
Fans were rapidly emptying the stadium... None of them shouting for 'encore'!
The stage layout was normal. Her costumes were not outstanding, most of the time T shirt with long jeans. May be it was restricted by so called 'malaysia's concert dress code'. Her performance was OK, short of anything spectacular.
I seriously think that the tickets are not worthwhile for our money (actually i din spend a single penny )... sigh.
